We have been involved in lots of small groups with churches, very deep friendships, etc. and while they all have been vulnerable, the level of vulnerability and honesty Matt is getting from this small coaching group is beyond anything I’ve ever heard of, especially for a men’s group. I am so grateful that he has men in his life that are not only so vulnerable and honest, but also have walked through these dark places themselves and are taking radical responsibility and self ownership. Thank you for your wise, patient guidance with each of the men- specifically in how you trust the process, meet them individually where they are, and help to guide them to do the work on their own, trusting that they will, rather than pushing/dictating/telling them what to do, etc. I feel like we are in one of the hardest phases of this process right now, but I am so hopeful for what is to come and all of the growth and beauty that lies ahead. The changes already have been so transformational for our whole family- Matt’s involvement in the radical collective this summer was actually the main factor in me being able to heal/work through fears I hadn’t realized I had been holding onto and things that have kept us both from wanting more children (even though deep down I always have), and we opened ourselves to welcoming another baby into our family and I’m 9 weeks along now.
